SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Location: Pittsburgh , PA
(This is a Contract to Permanent position)
Responsibilities:
- The Software Engineer will design, implement, and
test software components using a variety of tools, primarily targeting
the Microsoft Windows Platform.
- Software Engineers need to excel in teamwork,
critical thinking, adaptability, analysis/problem assessment,
initiative, and planning & organizing.
- A detailed understanding of distributed architectures and data-driven web sites is a critical success factor for the position.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years experience with Active Server Pages, Visual Basic 6.0 COM+, and ADO .
- Minimum 2 years experience developing web applications and web services utilizing Microsoft .NET technology.
- Minimum 2 years experience with Microsoft SQL
Server 2000, database design, stored procedure design, and DTS
package design
- Must have some project exposure to XML and XSLT
- Technical work in any HR-related area is a plus.

Technical Writing Specialist
Location: Pittsburgh , PA
Description:
The focus of this position is to research
documentation requirements for existing and new products, develop
documentation plans, and design and develop the documentation.
- Will also test documentation against software to ensure technical accuracy and validity.
- Will be an active participant on development team,
which will include project planning, scheduling, attending team
meetings, and interacting with other team members throughout the
projects.
- Research and gather functionality requirements.
- Perform routine and basic analysis of user requirements and design of product function, feature, and feel.
- Analyze identified problem areas and recommend revisions in function, feature, and/or feel to products.
- Develop and write technical documentation to support software products.
- Write from scratch various documentation materials
including end-user manuals, installation manuals, product-specific
manuals, specifications/systems guides, task-oriented on-line help,
context sensitive on-line help, and status bar help.
- Manage documentation development from creation, through review, sign-off, and production.
- Test documentation against software to ensure technical accuracy and validity.
- Participate in the creation of documentation
standards, maintain standards, and ensure documentation meets
established standards.
- Review and provide feedback on documentation
produced by other technical communicators to ensure compliance with
documentation standards.
- Provide consultation/assistance to other writers in solving/writing communication/design issues as needed.
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in writing, technical writing, or related field.
- Technical writing experience with demonstrated
competency in task-oriented software documentation, preferable for
Microsoft Windows XP programs.
- Strong technical writing skills in Microsoft Help.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software documentation principles.
- Strong formatting and desktop publishing skills, preferable in Microsoft Word.
- Basic familiarity with software design principles
and graphic user interface design principles, preferable Microsoft
Windows XP.
- HTML and PDF documentation.
Preferred:
Usability testing knowledge and specification writing is a plus.

Senior Applications Specialist
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
(This is a contract to permanent position)
The Senior Application Specialist will be responsible for the development and maintenance of various Enterprise Applications.
The Senior Application Specialist will work closely with MIS
Application Development, Project Management and Super Users on
analysis, trouble-shooting, development, implementation and support of
all enterprise related applications like ERP, Time and Expense System,
Data Warehousing. This is a technical development position.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development, implementation and support of Enterprise
Applications like Oracle 11i ERP, Time and Expense System, Data Warehousing.
- Troubleshoots issues with existing or developed systems, and works with the
appropriate resources to resolve them.
- Develop/Maintain complex Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Interfaces, APIs,
Workflows for Oracle 11i ERP system.
- Follow company coding standards, troubleshoot SQL tuning issues.
- Ability to work with various Vendor’s Technical Support.
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Computer Science or related field. 10+ years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu.
- 6 years of programming experience with at least 3
years of Oracle ERP programming and at least 2 years of Oracle 11i
programming
- Strong understanding of Database fundamentals, Software Development Life Cycle
- Well versed in Oracle Forms 6i, Oracle Reports 6i,
PL/SQL, Oracle 11i interfaces/APIs, Oracle database 8i/9i, Oracle
Workflow, Linux/Unix
- Experience in 11i Forms/Reports changes/extensions in Financials, Order Management, Manufacturing modules
- Oracle Application Implementation Methodology, Oracle Database 10g experience is a plus
- Experience in developing Web based applications, Web Services is a plus
- Microsoft SQL Server experience is a plus
- Strong initiative, technical aptitude, and exceptional proven initiative to investigate/learn new technologies.
